YOUTH ISSUES

1. Good schools from pre-K to graduate school require adequate funding and innovative leadership. How would you use your elected office to improve public education and/or make higher education affordable and accessible for young people in our community?

As a product of California’s public schools and universities, I have always supported full funding for public education.

In 2000, I authored the historic Cal Grant expansion bill, which guarantees every qualifying California student with at least a 2.0 GPA financial aid to attend a California university, college, community college or vocational school.
